Moocall HEAT is a collar that is worn by a stock or a teaser / vasectomised bull. Moocall eartags are attached to all cows and heifers. The collar then uses cow/bull proximity, mounting behaviour and bull activity levels to determine to an extremely high level of accuracy when a cow or a heifer is in heat.

Moocall is easy to use

Transform your herd management in five simple steps:

Step 1

Register a Moocall RFID ear tag.

Step 2

Attach a Moocall RFID ear tag, and power on the Moocall HEAT collar.

Step 3

Put the collar on the bull, Loop the collar around the bull’s neck and bring the two ends of the buckle together.

Step 4

Make sure the light is blinking blue. Ensure the collar is not too tight so as to be uncomfortable.

Step 5

Once the collar is on the bull’s neck, release him into a herd of cows/heifers tagged with Moocall RFID ear tags. Your Moocall HEAT collar will start monitoring for heat events immediately.

FAQ

You can attach the Moocall RFID tag to your cow with a regular universal tag pliers.
Before you go attaching it to the cow, however, make sure that you’ve taken these two important steps:

  1. Scan the tag label into the app
  2. Input the cow’s own ID/Name

Once that’s done, tag your cow. The best place to tag them is outside the ordinary ear tag.

If you don’t want to put another hole in the cow’s ear you can attach the Moocall Tag to the management tag.

However, when you do this bear in mind that this could increase the risk of losing one or both tags from the ear.

If you do this, make sure the main body of the Moocall RFID tag and the logo is not behind the other tag.

To determine how many MoocallHEAT you’ll need to buy, you should consider your herd size.

Lets take an example of a 100 cow herd with replacements exclusively using AI.

In this case, we recommend one collar on a bull per 50 cows. So you would have two collars with the main herd, and one collar with the replacements.

If you have a tight window for cows going back in calf, consider purchasing 2 collars and putting 2 bulls with the replacements for the first 3 weeks and circulating the bulls accordingly.

According to our research, the collar is picking up the majority of heats. It is as accurate as your bull.

Please note: the system is designed to work outdoors. Using it indoors, in overcrowded pens may lead to a loss in accuracy and false alarms.

The MoocallHEAT collar is designed to be bull-proof. It was independently tested and should have a lifespan of up to five years.

Electric fences do not affect the MoocallHEAT system. The electronics of the device are specially encased so electric conductance from a fence won’t affect performance.

Our tags are in a different part of the RF spectrum so they work fine near fences as well.

Should any issues arise, the collar comes with a 12-month warranty as standard. This warranty can be extended in year 2.

Department RFID tags only have a short read range and our system needs a wider read range to work efficiently. Moocall RFID tags are designed to be read at a longer range. They will not interfere with other tags.

There is a 12 months warranty from when the system is activated.
